Dr. Caroline Betancourt is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at CPS. She first joined the CPS team as a Clinical Psychology Intern in 2017. Upon completion of her internship, she was invited to stay on to complete her post- doctoral residency with us. She then became licensed in 2019.
Dr. Betancourt primarily works with children and their families to conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, as well as advocating for the fulfillment of children’s appropriate learning needs.
Dr. Betancourt pursued her undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with Minors in Spanish and Sociology. A South Florida native, Caroline continued her education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, earning a Master of Science and Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.).
Throughout her graduate training, Caroline’s research and clinical experience focused on the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with various developmental and emotional disorders and learning challenges. Although she has experience providing therapy to children and families, her expertise lies in conducting neuropsychological evaluations for the assessment of giftedness, specific learning disabilities and differences, social-emotional functioning, ADHD and behavioral difficulties, Individualized Education Plans (IEP), and school accommodations.
Dr. Rizzo’s philosophy is that no child should have to endure the journey toward adulthood that he took. By specializing in the cutting edge science of the brain, he has dedicated his life to ensuring that he, and those he mentored, prevent this for as many children as they can.
