Abigail Timmerman

Psychometrician, Psychologist Assistant

At just thirteen-years-old, Ms. Abigail Timmerman began volunteering as a “Motivational Coach” at CPS’s Brainforest Adventure Summer Program. Her responsibilities included facilitating instruction, behavioral support, and social skill integration. Following the summer of 2017, Ms. Timmerman transitioned to a role as psychometrician and assistant to Dr. Michael P. Rizzo (Coach Mike). In this capacity, she has honed skills in test scoring, select subtest administration with supervision, report writing assistance, and protocol management. These experiences have also enhanced her professional and clinical competencies in case conceptualization, school psychology best practices, and neuropsychological principles.

Ms. Timmerman received her Bachelor of Science in Child and Youth Studies with a concentration in Education Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University in the Spring of 2025. Driven by the example of Coach Mike, Ms. Timmerman is currently enrolled in the School Psychology Specialist program (Psy.S.) at Nova Southeastern University in order to focus on developing the skills necessary to ensure children’s unique learning needs are understood and to situate them within educational environments where they feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Ms. Timmerman, a lifelong resident of Marco Island, Florida, has always been captivated by its serene beauty. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family, boating, and playing with her family dog, Shadow. Ms. Timmerman is excited to continue serving and growing within this vibrant community she calls home.
